Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 14, 2026
Tropical Express wants this website to work for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or rely on other assistive technology. We build this site toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We are not claiming the site is fully compliant or free of every barrier. Accessibility is ongoing work, and we keep improving it.
What we’ve done
- A visible keyboard focus indicator on links, buttons, and form fields.
- A skip link so keyboard users can jump straight past the navigation.
- Real labels on every form field, not just placeholder text.
- One clear heading per page, with headings nested in order beneath it.
- Descriptive alt text on photos, and decorative images marked so screen readers skip them.
- A mobile menu that closes with the Escape key, keeps keyboard focus inside it while open, and returns focus to the menu button on close.
- Animation and autoplay that respect your device’s “reduce motion” setting.
Known gaps
Some lower-emphasis text on this site, such as captions and secondary details, uses a lighter, partly transparent version of our text color for visual hierarchy. Most of it meets our 4.5:1 contrast target for body text. In a few spots it falls short; the lowest we measured is about 4.3:1 against its background. Primary content, links, and every interactive control meet the target.
A muted, looping background video on the homepage has no caption track. It shows ambient footage of drinks being made and carries no spoken narration.
